About JDPC
The Johannesburg Defensive Pistol Club (JDPC) is a sports-shooting club dedicated to defensive shooting with all platforms, e.g., handgun, shotgun, and rifle. It is affiliated with the South African Defensive Pistol Association (SADPA) and utilizes the DMG rules of the Association in most shoots. JDPC club events are also recognized by the National Hunting and Shooting Association (NHSA), allowing NHSA members to upload events as sports activities. Established in 2001, the club promotes safe and practical defensive shooting sports designed to be relevant and applicable in real-life situations.
The Shooting Range
JDPC conducts regular club competition events at the Black Duck Shooting Range in Johannesburg. Members participate in various defensive shooting scenarios using handgun, rifle, and shotgun disciplines designed to simulate real-life defensive situations, which helps them enhance their shooting skills and tactical awareness.
